Fontenille Red

€15,50 Regular price
Capacity:1 Bottle of 75cl
A red with ripe and juicy fruit, enveloping the palate with elegance which seduces with its assertive character and subtle nose. To share with friends!

After a harvest carried out in the cool of the morning, the vinification process begins with delicate gravity work, followed by careful selection and sorting of the grapes on a vibrating table. After preliminary destemming before cold fermentation, each grape variety is fermented individually in vats, with particular attention paid to temperature control. An extended post-fermentation maceration of several weeks enriches the wine before pouring and pressing, bringing additional depth and elegance to each sip.

Sulphites: This wine contains sulphites in very limited quantities less than 30mg/L.

Bottling: This wine is produced and bottled in the heart of the Luberon in our Domaine in Lauris.

Fontenille Red

€15,50 Regular price

A perfect harmony between fruity delicacy and invigorating freshness.

Tasting notes

Ruby red color.

Subtle nose combining stewed black cherries and the generous spices of Syrah, from our sunniest vines.

On the palate, a delicate gourmandise is expressed with roundness and concentration, offering a beautiful substance where black fruits gradually give way to an invigorating freshness and varied nuances.

Serve between 14-18°C.
Enjoy now or cellar for 3 to 5 years.

Food & Wine Pairings

This contrasting wine of character should be combined with elegant and daring dishes: suckling lamb roasted with thyme, duck roasted with porcini mushrooms, venison stew with chocolate and small red fruits...

Make no mistake, if this red guard knows how to pair perfectly with powerful meats, it will also go harmoniously with delicate desserts and more particularly around chocolate: black forest or fondant or soft.

FAQs

Do your wines contain sulphites?

Our wines contain sulphites, which are naturally present in wine to protect against oxidation and help guarantee the good stability of our wines. The quantity of sulphites present in our wines is nevertheless very limited, remaining below 30mg/L in each of our wines, when the legal framework authorizes the presence of sulphites up to 200mg/L. Our wines therefore do not give a headache for people sensitive to this molecule.

Are your wines organic?

Yes, we are very proud to claim our certification in organic farming for over 10 years. The transition of our vines was initiated by Frédérique Biousse and Guillaume Foucher following their acquisition of Domaine de Fontenille in 2013 and was carried out gently because the older generations of Fontenille winegrowers were already kind to their land.

Do you produce sweet wines?

We do not produce sweet or sweet wines at Domaine de Fontenille. The wine profiles are rather dry and tense, in keeping with the expression of our limestone and mineral terroir.

Do you produce varietal wines?

We have chosen to focus on the history of the appellation. We believe that respecting the region's tradition of blending several grape varieties is the way to go. This brings complexity to our wines for the greatest pleasure of your taste buds.
