Tasting notes
Garnet red color.
The nose transports you to the Luberon mountains. Garrigue, violet and black fruits invite you for a stroll.
The mouth is silky and generous. The tannins are fine and polished, the fruit of the work done in the casks.
The final note of jammy black fruits and acidity reveal an aging potential of more than 10 years, its evolution towards kirsched and jammy notes, a synonym of excellence.
Serve at 17°C.
To decant when young, to keep in the cellar for more than 10 years.
Food & Wine Pairings
The power and amplitude of the Cuvée Primard will perfectly accompany grilled or sauced meats. Syrah also goes perfectly with desserts based on chocolate and stewed red fruits. Piece of matured beef, wine sauce, paschal lamb, veal with olives... Treat yourself.
Don't forget to decant it before tasting it, or to decant it well when it is young!
A Silver medalist wine!
FAQs
Do your wines contain sulphites?
Our wines contain sulphites, which are naturally present in wine to protect against oxidation and help guarantee the good stability of our wines. The quantity of sulphites present in our wines is nevertheless very limited, remaining below 30mg/L in each of our wines, when the legal framework authorizes the presence of sulphites up to 200mg/L. Our wines therefore do not give a headache for people sensitive to this molecule.
Are your wines organic?
Yes, we are very proud to claim our certification in organic farming for over 10 years. The transition of our vines was initiated by Frédérique Biousse and Guillaume Foucher following their acquisition of Domaine de Fontenille in 2013 and was carried out gently because the older generations of Fontenille winegrowers were already kind to their land.
Do you produce sweet wines?
We do not produce sweet or sweet wines at Domaine de Fontenille. The wine profiles are rather dry and tense, in keeping with the expression of our limestone and mineral terroir.
Do you produce varietal wines?
We have chosen to focus on the history of the appellation. We believe that respecting the region's tradition of blending several grape varieties is the way to go. This brings complexity to our wines for the greatest pleasure of your taste buds.
